Our Driver Training courses are accredited by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA).
City Driver Training Level 1 is a 1-day basic driver skill course aimed at drivers of all abilities. This is a theory and practical driver training course with assessment-based competence checking.
The day commences with the checking of driving licences and eyesight checks. A classroom theory presentation follows where the principles of safe driving are outlined and discussed with the students drawing upon their own experiences. Students are then introduced to a detailed and structured way of conducting vehicle ‘Safety Checks’. At the commencement of on road training each student receives an assessment drive. At the conclusion of this the trainer will provide each student constructive feedback detailing their strengths and weaknesses. The trainer will then provide a demonstration drive using commentary throughout focusing upon areas identified for further development by each student.
Each student then undertakes a number of separate drives where the trainer using coaching techniques assists the student to make the necessary adjustments within their driving leading towards a final assessment drive for each student identifying whether or not they have attained the required standard to pass. Final assessment reports are written for all students. Continuation / consolidation training is recommended for students that have not achieved the required standard.
